These are the terms for using Tunebout. They are short on purpose. By using the site, you agree to them.

The service

Tunebout is a free web tool for creating and playing music quizzes built around third-party audio embeds (YouTube, YouTube Music, and Spotify). It is provided as is, without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't promise the site will be available, fast, bug-free, or that any specific feature will keep working. Use at your own discretion.

Your quizzes, your responsibility

You're responsible for the quizzes you create and the songs you choose to include in them. Tunebout does not host audio — it embeds clips from YouTube and Spotify, which serve content under their own terms. Even so, you're the one picking what goes in a quiz, and you're responsible for making sure your use is appropriate (no harassment, no targeting of minors, no clearly infringing rebroadcasts, no illegal content, you get the idea).

When you share a quiz link, you're sharing it under your own name, not Tunebout's. We don't pre-screen or moderate quizzes — there is no central library to moderate. Quiz links are essentially private URLs unless you choose to share them.

Not affiliated with anyone

Tunebout is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube, Google, Spotify, bytebin, is.gd, Piped, or any other service mentioned on the site. Trademarks and brand names belong to their respective owners.

The site can change or go away

Tunebout is a side project. Features may change, break, or be removed without notice. The whole site may at some point shut down. Because your quiz data lives in URLs (and, for big quizzes, on a third-party paste service we don't control), losing access to the site doesn't necessarily mean losing your quiz — but we make no guarantees about long-term link availability.

Acceptable use

Don't use Tunebout to do illegal things, harass people, distribute malware, scrape the site at abusive rates, or interfere with how the site works for others. Don't try to break, probe, or overload the infrastructure. The usual stuff.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tunebout and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the site, including loss of data, loss of access to a quiz, or anything you experience as a result of embedded third-party content.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
